A Legacy Lives On.
Richard Simpson Jr., a lifelong resident of Walton, NY, was the creative force behind the Haunted Barn on Pinesbrook Rd, a Halloween event that thrilled visitors for years. However, in 2015, due to code regulations, the town forced Richard to close its doors, ending a beloved tradition.
Richard had always dreamed of moving his haunted attraction to The Castle on The Delaware, a historic site owned by his close friend. Sadly, he passed away before this dream could be realized. In 2023, the castle owner reached out to Richard's sister, Tina Kokoszka, to bring his vision to life. The family rallied together, and with just a short amount of time, they successfully launched the first Haunted Castle Tour, which was met with overwhelming success including sold-out shows.
To create an immersive and unforgettable experience, the castle owner enlisted Epiphany Shakespeare Co. as tour guides. They developed a captivating storyline around the seven truckloads of Richards’s props and decorations to transform the castle into a haunted masterpiece. Their cast of actors brought the story to life, entertaining and terrifying guests throughout the night.
